Encino, CA (May 14, 2013) – ACM Lifting Lives® announced today that the May “My Cause” web feature will spotlight charities chosen by the artists performing on ACM PRESENTS: TIM McGRAW’S SUPERSTAR SUMMER NIGHT airing Sunday, May 19th on CBS at 9pm ET/PT.  Each artist was given the opportunity to select a charity of their choice to receive a $10,000 donation from ACM Lifting Lives®. 

My Cause is one way ACM Lifting Lives tangibly demonstrates the Academy’s support of country music artists.  Many people have been helped by these fantastic charities, and ACM Lifting Lives bolsters that support by increasing awareness and funding for these very deserving causes.  Over the past two years, ACM Lifting Lives has donated more than $190,000 to artists’ favorite charities through this program.

About ACM Lifting Lives

ACM Lifting Lives® is the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music dedicated to improving lives through the power of music.  Each year, ACM Lifting Lives provides funding to music-related therapy and education programs, including the organization’s flagship ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp, a partnership since 2010 with Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities in Nashville, TN. ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp is a week-long residential program open to individuals with developmental disabilities, talented in music from around the nation, and has a dual purpose of studying Williams syndrome and other developmental disabilities while providing music enrichment through performance and education. Other Lifting Lives giving includes serving members of the country music community who face unexpected financial hardship through the Diane Holcomb Emergency Relief Fund, and partnering with music artists to improve lives.
