ACM LIFTING LIVES ANNOUNCES $100,000 DONATION AT NASHVILLE RISING: A BENEFIT CONCERT FOR FLOOD RECOVERY
Encino, CA (July 12, 2010) – ACM Lifting Lives® presented The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee with a $100,000 check during NASHVILLE RISING: A BENEFIT CONCERT FOR FLOOD RECOVERY spearheaded by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in Nashville, TN on June 22. This marks the third significant flood-related donation made by ACM Lifting Lives.
"Thanks to the big hearts of country music artists like Tim and Faith, the ACM raised over a million dollars for ACM Lifting Lives through our Brooks & Dunn special that aired earlier this year on CBS. We are so grateful to be able to quickly use that funding to help flood victims in Middle Tennessee and to be a part of this outstanding night showcasing Nashville's generous, community-minded spirit," said Erin Spahn, Director of ACM Lifting Lives.
On May 16, superstars Lady Antebellum and Brad Paisley presented the first disbursement, a $250,000 check, on behalf of ACM Lifting Lives to The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee during the live Great American Country (GAC) telethon "Music City Keep On Playin' – A Benefit for Flood Relief." Additionally, ACM Entertainer of the Year Carrie Underwood and ACM Lifting Lives announced the creation of the ACM Lifting Lives Temporary Home Fund to support flood relief efforts. Seed money to start the Fund represents the second disbursement, with ACM Lifting Lives and Underwood each providing a portion to get it off the ground.
